You may not know this about me but I drink a smoothie every single day. I have since 2012! I find it’s a great way to get in extra fruits and veggies. Sometimes I eat too many cookies, fries, and burgers.

Drinking a smoothie allows me to reset my system just a little bit. I’ve got tons of different combos I use so I thought I’d start documenting them here. Here’s the first smoothie I’m sharing.

Ingredients for Mixed Berry Smoothie

To make this smoothie all your need is 5 or 6 ingredients. I did mark the sweetener as optional because I normally don’t use it but I do know some people like their smoothies a little sweeter! Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Mixed Berries
  • Almond Milk
  • Bananas
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Optional Agave

How to Make this Mixed Berry Smoothie

This is a dump everything in the blender-and-go type of recipe. Here’s how to make this mixed berry smoothie:

All ingredients in the blender ready to blend the mixed berry smoothie
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.
2 glasses of mixed berry smoothie
2 mixed berry smoothies with straws on a mat.

Can I use fresh berries?

Yes! If you do use fresh berries, add one cup of crushed ice to achieve the thickness of the smoothie.

Can I add a sweetener?

You sure can! You can add 2 tbsp of agave or maple syrup to the smoothie. Try adding in 2 dates to make this fully raw and whole foods plant-based.

Here are a few substitutions you can make

  • Replace the almond milk with plant-based yogurt and make this a creamy smoothie bowl
  • Switch out mixed berries with your favorite frozen fruit or berry
  • Add in mint leaves for an added fresh taste

How to store leftovers?

You can store the leftovers in the fridge overnight. You can also turn the smoothie into popsicles by adding the smoothie mixture into popsicle molds.

Place in the freezer overnight and you’ve got popsicles. Those will last in your freezer covered for up to 3 months.
