If you haven’t had garlic knots you are missing out! Today I’m so excited to share my vegan garlic knots recipe with you. I was first introduced to garlic knots when I visited my sister in New York City. They use to not be a big deal on the west coast and I fell in love at first bite!

This recipe is just like the classic they’re buttery, fluffy, and oh-so garlicky! Topped with garlic oil that is so easy to make. This delicious side dish is ready to enjoy hot out of the oven and pairs perfectly with pizza, pasta, salad, or even soup!

Ingredients to make vegan garlic knots

This list of ingredients isn’t much. You’ll need just a few herbs, premade pizza dough, garlic, and some good-quality olive oil. Here’s everything you’ll need:

How to make vegan garlic knots

Pull out a batch of premade vegan pizza dough and let’s make these vegan garlic knots! Here’s how to make this delicious side dish:

  1. Divide your homemade vegan pizza dough into 24 balls.
  2. Roll those balls into logs then gently tie them into a knot.
  3. Place your knots onto your parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow the garlic knot dough to sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake at 425 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until the edges become slightly golden brown.
  5. While your garlic knots are baking, in a bowl combine the olive oil, garlic, vegan parmesan, salt, oregano, red pepper flakes, and ground pepper. Stir to fully combine the ingredients.
  6. Once the garlic knots are done baking, brush on the prepared garlic oil.

FAQ’s

Do garlic knots have dairy?

Traditionally garlic knots do contain parmesan cheese so yes they do have dairy. This recipe is completely vegan and dairy free!

Are garlic knots a New York thing?

Typically you’ll find garlic knots in New York and that was the first place I ate them. You are seeing them all over now. I think it’s because they are just too delicious!

How to store vegan garlic knots?

Store the vegan garlic knots in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven covered at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 homemade vegan pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic finely diced or grated (grated is best!)
  • 2 tbsp vegan parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by placing a piece of parchment paper on top or spray with some non-stick spray.
  • Divide your homemade vegan pizza dough into 24 balls.

  • Place your knots onto your parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow the garlic knot dough to sit for 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 425 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until the edges become slightly golden brown.
  • While your garlic knots are baking, in a bowl combine the olive oil, garlic, vegan parmesan, salt, oregano, red pepper flakes, and ground pepper. Stir to fully comine the ingredients.
    1/4 cup olive oil, 2 cloves garlic, 2 tbsp vegan parmesan, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • Once the garlic knots are done baking, brush on the prepared garic oil. Serve with some marinara sauce for dipping! Makes 24 knots.
