How to make this Vegan Chocolate Cake recipe
All you need to do is gather up the ingredients listed below!
Ingredients needed for this Vegan Chocolate Cake
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp flax meal + 5 Tbsp water
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup grapeseed oil (you can sub veg oil grapeseed taste best)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cup flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
Ganache frosting ingredients
- 1 can of full-fat canned coconut milk
- 12.5 oz

How to make homemade ganache (make this part first!)
Add the chocolate chips and coconut milk to a double boiler (saucepan with water and a bowl on top) set the burner to med-high heat. Stir until combined and melted.
Allow cooling to room temp. add to the fridge to cool completely. (This is best to make before you start the cake.)
Allow the cake to cool completely before adding the ganache frosting.
How to make this vegan chocolate cake recipe
Combine milk and vinegar — set aside allow to curdle.
Combine flax meal and water — set aside allow to thicken (this is the egg replacement)
Meanwhile…
Combine sugar, vanilla, and oil mix until the sugar has dissolved. Add the flax meal water mixture. Mix to combine.
In a seperate bowl combine dry ingredients — flour cocoa powder, baking powder and soda.
Add the sugar/oil mixture to the dry ingredients. Slowly mix in the “sour milk” Mix to combine.
Grease + parchment 2 8″ cake pans or grease + parchment a 9×13 pan.
