This Vegan Pizza Dough is an easy recipe to use for vegan pizza night! This simple homemade pizza dough uses 5 ingredients and takes just 10 minutes to prep! I use this recipe to make my vegan pizza and vegan garlic knots!

My husband is a huge pizza fan and this vegan pizza dough recipe is a staple in our home. I use this recipe for vegan pizza night and when I make my vegan garlic knots.

Some store-bought pizza dough is vegan but sometimes it’s hard to know for sure, making your own at home is so simple. This recipe takes just 5 common pantry staples; one of them being water!

What is vegan pizza dough made of?

Check out the recipe card below for the full recipe. Here’s everything you’ll need to make this recipe:

  • All-purpose flour
  • Warm water – 110 degrees any warmer might hurt the yeast.
  • Sugar
  • Yeast
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

How to Make vegan pizza dough

This recipe can be made by hand or with a stand mixer. It’ll work either way! Here’s how to make this vegan pizza dough:

  1. Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Allow yeast to soften for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a medium-large bowl combine the salt and 2 cups of flour.
  3. Once the yeast has softened add the yeast/water mixture to the flour mixture.
  4. Once the water mixture and the flour mixture are combined the dough will be wet and sticky. Add in your olive oil. Mix to combine.
  5. Slowly add the last cup to cup and a half of the flour until the dough doesn’t stick to the sides of the bowl if using an electric mixer or the dough doesn’t stick to your hands.
  6. Place dough in the bowl and cover. Allow dough to rise for 2 hours or until it’s doubled in size.
  7. Once the dough has doubled in size, it’s ready to use!

Mix the water and half the flour. Then add the oil.
Add the rest of the flour. Mix until well combined.

Is pizza dough vegan?

Most of the time it is! Sometimes eggs, milk, or butter are used. Make sure you always read the ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 tsp dry active yeast 1 packet
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3-3 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • To make this pizza dough combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Allow yeast to soften for about 5 minutes.

  • You can use this dough to make pizza or garlic knots.

Notes

You can make this the day before and place it in the fridge overnight. Take the dough out of the fridge 30 minutes before preparing the dough.
