For this recipe, I used my ice cream maker but you don’t have to use it to enjoy this recipe. It’ll just take a little longer to set up in the freezer but this recipe will still come out creamy and taste great!

What is vegan ice cream made of?
I wanted to keep this recipe as minimal as possible to make this a perfect base to grow off of. So you’ll need just 3 ingredients to make this recipe:
- Coconut milk – I used regular canned coconut milk.
- Maple syrup
- Vanilla extract
How to Make Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream
Follow these simple steps to make this recipe. Scroll further if you’re not using an ice cream maker.
- About 2 hours before you want to make this recipe place your ice cream maker bowl in the freezer.
- In a bowl add the coconut milk, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Stir well to combine.
- Place the ice cream maker bowl and stirrer into the ice cream maker. *See notes if you’re not using an ice cream maker.
- Pour the ice cream mixture into the ice cream maker bowl. Place the lid on and set it to churn for 20 minutes.
- When the time is up, scoop the ice cream out of the freezer bowl and into a freezer-safe container. Allow the mixture to freeze fully for about an hour to an hour and a half.
- After the ice cream has hardened, serve in a bowl, a vegan cone, or on top of your favorite dessert!

To make this vegan vanilla ice cream recipe without an ice cream maker, you’ll want to add your ingredients to a bowl and stir until well combined. Make sure that the maple syrup is not at the bottom of the bowl.
Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container and place it in the fridge for at least 3 hours. Serve as usual.
